The app order looks fine on screen, then only £ / $ / € is left in your hand.
How much do I actually keep from each order that comes through a delivery app?
You keep the order value minus the platform commission, minus any tax charged on that commission, minus the app's fixed fee per order, minus what the food and the packaging cost you. Put your own numbers in the fields below and the page does the subtraction for you.

The maths is done. Now Oravio can tell you what to do with it.

- Start from the order value the customer pays for the food, before delivery charges and tips.
- Work out the commission: order value times the commission rate, divided by 100.
- Add the tax charged on that commission, if there is one where you trade.
- Add the fixed fee the app takes on every order.
- Take the commission, the tax on it and the fixed fee off the order value.
- Take off what the food cost you and what the packaging cost you.
- What is left is your take home from that order. Divide it by the order value to see the share you keep.
- What stays with you from this order = Order value the customer pays for the food - (Order value the customer pays for the food × Platform commission on the order ÷ 100) - (Order value the customer pays for the food × Platform commission on the order ÷ 100 × Sales tax added on top of the commission (0 if none or if you get it back) ÷ 100) - Fixed fee the app charges per order - What the food in that order costs you - Boxes, bags and cutlery for that order
- What the app takes from this order = Order value the customer pays for the food × Platform commission on the order ÷ 100 + Order value the customer pays for the food × Platform commission on the order ÷ 100 × Sales tax added on top of the commission (0 if none or if you get it back) ÷ 100 + Fixed fee the app charges per order
- Share of the order value you keep = What stays with you from this order ÷ Order value the customer pays for the food × 100
An example
Order value the customer pays for the food: 40 £ / $ / € · Platform commission on the order: 25 % · Sales tax added on top of the commission (0 if none or if you get it back): 20 % · Fixed fee the app charges per order: 0.50 £ / $ / € · What the food in that order costs you: 12 £ / $ / € · Boxes, bags and cutlery for that order: 1.50 £ / $ / €.
Result: What stays with you from this order: 14.00 £ / $ / € · What the app takes from this order: 12.50 £ / $ / € · Share of the order value you keep: 35.0 %.
Worth keeping in mind
- Commission rates move a lot by platform, by plan and by who drives: check your own contract, not an average.
- If you can claim back the tax on the commission, put 0 in that field, otherwise the result is too low.
- Some apps charge a one-off joining fee and a small admin charge per order. Add the per-order part in the fixed fee field.
- A discount you fund yourself is not counted here. Lower the order value by the discount before you read the result.
- Staff time, rent, power and card handling are not in this figure. Your real profit is lower.

How this page came about
Nobody wrote it by hand. Oravio built it on its own.
- It looked for the sources and opened them one by one: the ones that do not answer never get in.
- It wrote the formulas and tried them on a worked example: if the maths does not add up, the page never goes out.
- It laid the page out and put it online all by itself, with nobody touching a key.
It is the same work it does for the people who use it: you say what you need in plain words, and it gets done while you are doing something else. A page like this one, on your own numbers, included.
You can ask Oravio
You have the number. Now you can ask Oravio to deal with it.
Oravio is an AI operating system: you say in plain words what you need and it actually does it — it answers your customers for you, keeps your books, checks every night and only calls you when it matters.
