how to make a website for my gelato shop without paying a web guy
People kept asking me «do you have a website?» and I always said no, sorry. I wouldn't know where to start.
My gelato shop has its own website, and I didn't touch a thing
For a 52-year-old woman who runs a small gelato shop with her husband and has never made a website

The message that came when the site went live
Your website is online. Gelateria Rosa, Via Garibaldi 14. Today's flavours are up: pistachio, stracciatella, fig and ricotta, lemon sorbet. Open 11:00 to 23:00, closed Mondays. The map takes people right to your door. Tomorrow at 8:30 I'll ask you for the new flavours. Just tell me, and I'll change the page.
This arrives on its own. Nobody opened anything.
How it was before. To get a website I'd have to call a web designer, pay him, then call him back every time the flavours changed. So we just never had one.
What they said, out loud
I'd like a little website for my gelato shop, with our hours, where we are and the flavours of the day. I'll tell you the flavours every morning.
What Oravio did, on its own
- Made a one-page site with the shop's name, hours and a map to the door
- Used the photos of the counter she already had on her phone
- Put the flavours of the day at the top, big and easy to read
- Put the site online at its own address and sent her the link to share on WhatsApp
- Set a message for every morning at 8:30 to ask her for the new flavours
How long it took: about a quarter of an hour, while she was washing the scoops after closing
Why a chat is not enough
A chat can write some nice words, but it can't put a real site online, ask her for the flavours at 8:30 and change the page while she's busy making the gelato.
Who else this same thing is for
- A baker who wants today's bread and cakes online every morning
- A retired man who rents out his seaside flat and wants a simple page with photos and dates
- A mum who makes birthday cakes at home and wants somewhere to show them
- A teenager who fixes bikes on weekends and wants a page with his prices

How this page came about
Nobody wrote it by hand. Oravio built it on its own.
- It looked for the sources and opened them one by one: the ones that do not answer never get in.
- It wrote the formulas and tried them on a worked example: if the maths does not add up, the page never goes out.
- It laid the page out and put it online all by itself, with nobody touching a key.
It is the same work it does for the people who use it: you say what you need in plain words, and it gets done while you are doing something else. A page like this one, on your own numbers, included.
And from here on, without you asking again
Every morning at 8:30 it will ask her for the flavours of the day and put them on the site. When she says «we're closed for holidays next week», the page will say it too.
This page is one thing out of hundreds. Oravio lives on your own server, on your computer, phone and tablet: it remembers for years, works at night and keeps doing your jobs while you do something else. It takes a minute to switch on.
You can ask Oravio
Your shop will have its own website too, and you won't touch a thing
Oravio is an AI operating system: you say in plain words what you need and it actually does it — it answers your customers for you, keeps your books, checks every night and only calls you when it matters.
For example, you can write: «I'd like a little website for my gelato shop, with our hours, where we are and the flavours of the day. I'll tell you the flavours every morning.»
